Primary Airway Ciliated Epithelial Cell Services
Cytoptics provides to industry, academia and government, the evaluation of targeted agents on ciliary beat frequency using our Cilscreen™ and Ciliascope™ technologies. The effects of the selected agents are tested using primary cultures of canine, ovine or porcine ciliated airway epithelial cells, CiliScreen™ . These ciliated airway epithelial cells sustain robust, synchronous beating for weeks. The cell morphology resembles those found in in vivo conditions.
Measurements of Ciliary beat frequency, CBF, are made with Ciliascope™ . Ciliascope™ is an epi-illumination inverted microscope specifically designed for the real-time measurement of ciliary beat frequency (CBF). Ciliascope™ uses dynamic laser light scattering and nonstationary signal analysis to measure, display, and record CBF as the experiment is being performed. Ciliascope™ measures CBF in every 2 to 5 seconds. Thus responses of ciliary beat to the test agent can be measured in very short (seconds) and long (hours) times frames according the agent's mode of action.
Applications of our Airway Epithelial Cell Products and Services
